Remote Online Notary
Tennessee RON

for U.S. & International Signers

Get Your Documents Notarized Online — From Wherever You Are

I provide Remote Online Notarization (RON) through Knox Notary Co., allowing eligible documents to be notarized securely online through a live audio-video appointment. There’s no need to travel to an office or meet with me in person.

I’m a Tennessee-commissioned online notary and will be physically located in Tennessee during your notarization. You don’t have to be in Tennessee. Depending on your document and circumstances, I can work with signers located throughout the United States and in many international locations.

Remote Online Notarization can be especially helpful if you are:

  • Located outside Tennessee but need a document notarized

  • Living, working or traveling outside the United States

  • A military member or military family

  • Traveling and unable to meet with a notary locally

  • Homebound or have limited transportation

  • Coordinating a transaction with signers in different locations

  • Looking for a convenient alternative to an in-person notarization

The process is completed online using secure Remote Online Notarization technology. You’ll verify your identity, meet with me through live two-way audio and video, and sign or acknowledge your document electronically as required. Not every document or signer will qualify for Remote Online Notarization. Eligibility can depend on the document, the requirements of the organization receiving it, your identification and your ability to complete the platform's identity-verification requirements.

Not sure whether RON will work for your document? Call or text (865) 287-5144 or email knoxnotaryco@gmail.com. I’m happy to take a look at what you need and help determine whether Remote Online Notarization is an option.

How Remote Online Notarization with Knox Notary Co Works

Through Knox Notary Co., I provide Tennessee Remote Online Notarization services for eligible documents, allowing signers to complete a notarization securely by live audio and video.

1. Confirm Your Document Can Be Notarized Online

Before scheduling with me, confirm that the organization receiving your document will accept:

  • An electronic signature

  • Remote Online Notarization

  • An electronically notarized document

  • Remote witnesses, if witnesses are required

I can help explain how Remote Online Notarization works, but the organization receiving your document ultimately determines whether it will accept an electronically notarized document.

A properly completed notarization does not guarantee acceptance by every court, bank, title company, government agency or foreign authority.

2. Send Me Your Complete Document

Once you're ready to proceed, you will send me the complete electronic document using the secure document-delivery method I provide.

Make sure all required information has been completed before your appointment. Unless you've been specifically instructed otherwise, wait to sign until we are connected for your remote notarization session.

3. Complete Identity Verification

Before or during your appointment, you'll be asked to present an eligible government-issued photo ID and complete the identity-verification process required by the remote notarization platform I use.

Depending on the platform and transaction, this may include:

  • Electronic analysis of your identification

  • Knowledge-based authentication

  • A live photograph or selfie

  • Biometric comparison

  • Verification by a live identity agent

  • A current or previous U.S. address

  • The last four digits of a Social Security number or ITIN

  • Sufficient U.S. public-record or credit history

A Social Security number is not required for every signer under Tennessee law. However, the platform used for your appointment may require certain U.S.-based information to successfully complete its identity-proofing process.

Tennessee requires remote online notarization technology to provide identity proofing and credential analysis.

4. Meet With Me Through Live Video

At your scheduled appointment time, you'll connect with me through a secure, live two-way audio and video session.

I'll verify your identity, communicate with you in real time and complete the appropriate notarial act while you electronically sign the document or acknowledge your signature.

Because the notarization takes place online, you can usually complete the appointment from your home, office or another suitable location without meeting with me in person.

5. Receive Your Completed Electronic Document

After I complete and finalize the notarization, your electronically notarized document will generally be returned to you digitally.

Delivery time may vary depending on the document, transaction and remote notarization platform being used.

Documents Commonly Notarized Online

Important Information for International Signers

You may be located outside the United States and still be eligible for Remote Online Notarization.

The main challenge for some international signers is completing the identity-verification process required by the Remote Online Notarization platform.

Depending on the platform being used, identity verification may rely on information such as:

  • A Social Security number or ITIN

  • A current or previous U.S. address

  • Sufficient U.S. public-record or credit history

  • An identification credential accepted by the platform

Some platforms may offer alternative identity-verification methods, but availability depends on the platform, document and transaction.

Please contact Knox Notary Co. before scheduling if you:

  • Live outside the United States

  • Have never lived in the United States

  • Do not have a Social Security number or ITIN

  • Do not have a current or former U.S. address

  • Have limited U.S. public-record or credit history

  • Plan to use a foreign passport or other foreign-issued identification

I can review your situation and help determine whether the available Remote Online Notarization platform is likely to work before you schedule an appointment.
